Why it matters?

  1. Art is a powerful tool for building community pride & participation
  2. By asking folks from many places to leave a mark, they gain a personal reason to care about Downtown Martinsburg
  3. Create an event that will generate opportunity and revenue for local businesses
  4. All Hands In strives to create partnerships between civic, business and other organizations that will help accelerate the comeback of Main Street
  5. Further the mission and impact of the Burke Street Promise Neighborhood Initiative… Building Promising Futures from Cradle to Career.

What is it?

All hands In is a community created Mural project inspired by the students at Burke Street Elementary. The vision is to create a series of Mural Panels that will be displayed throughout downtown.

What will happen at the festival.

We are creating more than a great work of art, we are making our community even more amazing.

We will roll out the red carpet and the paint! On the day of the festival, we will have an epic art crawl. Mural panel painting stations will be set up at many locations throughout downtown Martinsburg.

Hundreds of people from the region will enjoy all the fun, creativity and activities that All Hands In and the downtown businesses can provide. Folks will walk our great downtown and make their own mark on the panels that will beautify our great town.

After the festival, David Heatwole will put the final touches on the mural panels and they will be hung in various places in Downtown Martinsburg.

Imagine the joy and satisfaction you, and all the people who make their mark on these panels, will feel as you visit Martinsburg over and over again and see the masterpiece in our community.
